What Does ENERGY STAR® Mean for You?

The ENERGY STAR® program recently celebrated its 1 millionth ENERGY STAR qualified home built in the United States.  As a participating builder in the ENERGY STAR program, we feel this is a great accomplishment for the United States.

As a homebuyer, what does ENERGY STAR mean for you?  According to the ENERGYSTAR.gov website, the energy efficient features of an ENERGY STAR qualified home can help homeowners save $200 to $400 per year on utility bills.  A savings which can equate to thousands over the life of the home.

Qualifying as an ENERGY STAR builder requires a bit more than just installing ENERGY STAR appliances.  ENERGY STAR homes are built with a focus on 5 key aspects of efficient building; effective insulation, high performance windows, tight construction and HVAC ducts, efficient HVAC systems, and efficient products such as lighting and appliances.  Furthermore, homes must undergo a rigorous third party verification in order to qualify as ENERGY STAR rated.

In the coming posts, we will continue to discover the benefits of an ENERGY STAR home.    Our Somerset location in Woodstock is a prime example of our ENERGY STAR qualified homes.  Contact us (mcraven@windsonglife.com) 770-516-3678,  to schedule a private tour and learn how our elegant ranch homes can save you money.  Be sure to act quickly as there is only one homesite remaining in this community.
